Photos Jerk Before and After Many Transitions

Sherry D.

Question

I've gotten so much help about things from this discussion board and I've posted and researched this before but before resigning myself to the fact that I can't use most of my "fancy" transitions without it making my photos before and after haveing an annoying little jerk that I decided I would post one more time and just exhaust every bit of troubleshooting there is. I said in another post that since someone said that this is a Roxio problem that will hopefully be included in the next patch that I will not spend anymore time trying to fix it. But then I decided that if there are other customers who don't have this problem, that there must be something I can do to fix it. Maybe not.

As I mentioned above, I am still having trouble with using many transitions. It's not the transition that doesn't work, it is the photo that comes before/after the transition that has got an obvious jerk to it. Here are all the things I've tried thanks to the replies of a couple of my posts:

I have updated my video card driver-everything on my HP Pavillion is brand new.

I have saved to an iso file in slowest speed, then burned to DVD in slow speed.

Burned to video file-best quality-burned to DVD in slowest speed and every other combination of the above mentioned things.

I've changed the duration of the transitions, photos, installed, reinstalled, tried to duplicate my slideshows in Cinemagic....

Dissolves and slides are fine. But one of the main reasons I purchased and have used and enjoyed Video Wave 9 is because of all of the transition choices. I know this statement is not constructive to figuring out a solution to my problem, but I want it made clear (for whatever it's worth to anyone who can help me) that I'm not a complaining to just be complaining customer that we all read on these boards. I'm a customer that desperately wants this product to work because I believe in the software. But right now I feel like I've got a top of the line Cadillac and I'm only able to put it in drive and not allowed to use any of the optional features I was so looking forward to using. (without sounding dramatic)

If there are anymore troubleshooting options that anyone has I would love it!

Sincerely,

Want To Use All Transitions and the Photos Transition Smoothly

Sorry, there isn't anything you can do. This happens with 'some' video cards when set to hardware render. Could be a particular card/driver combination or something like that. We haven't tried to pinpoint which cards or brands, but I know that it happened with an earlier nVidia card I had.

What card do you have now? I think that it most definitely is a problem with EMC 9 and NVidia. I have a higher end NVidia card, and I get the jerkiness with most of the transitions except dissolves.

If you switch to software render, you lose all of the 3-D transitions.

I also have a higher end nVidia card. Oh well, I'll just settle with switching to software render and give up using 3d's and page turns, etc. until the problem gets fixed. Keep me in mind if any solutions pop up, including another kind of video card. Thanks for your response. I really appreciate it.

When you changed your card, did it fix your problem? I would be so willing to buy a new card if I thought/knew that it would work. I just updated nVidia yesterday hoping it would help.

You are welcome. We'll all find out if the problem is solved, when the patch comes out.

If at all possible, make a copy of your prodject file and find a friend that has EMC9 and make a disk on his/her computer. I have been a factory repair tech for years on HP and Compaq computers the problem may be an inheritant lacking of CPU clock timing of the Mother Board of your HP computer not the video cards. HP may have a BIOS patch update that may correct the problem. Goto HP.com follow the directions about supplying the factory model no. for updates for download.
