won't complete setup

I just purchased Creator 9 and have yet to get it installed. I've had all the odd versions (57&9) and never had this problem. I meet and exceed all the requirements listed on the sidepanel, except for an internet hookup. I'm running XP w/sp2. I spent almost 3 hours on the phone to Roxio support. We've tried a clean installation. The program generally gets as far as input of the serial number then gives me an internal error (2755.1639) and quits.

I'm frustrated and confused. Apparently so is Roxio support. I even exchanged the program for another with exactly the same results. Can anyone offer a suggestion?

If Roxio can't get it to install, we probably can't either.

 

List your system specs, and what you have running in the background when you try to install. It is adviseable to shut down all running processes.

 

Even if you get it to install, you may have problems activating without being connected to the internet, but let's try one step at a time.
