Cold Steel
Does version 6 run under Microsoft Vista? And if so, I assume the same would be true of versions 7 and 8? I'm not real happy with version 9 and am thinking of upgrading backwards. Thanks!

Only EMC 9 is Vista compatible and I've not seen anyone get the earlier versions running even in XP Compatibility mode. IE7 breaks earlier versions of Roxio programs and it's only part of the problem with running earlier versions.
Cold Steel
I'm ha ing problems with Roxio 6 and XP Professional. Is IE7 the culprit and, if so, how to I reinstall IE6? (Last time I tried it, I trashed my computer. My backup saved me, but it was a backup of my IE7 system.) I'd heard only the early versions of IE7 were problematic, but now even Nero seems to be sputtering.

If you don't know how to remove programs, look here.
Cold Steel
Well, it's like this. I removed the program and my system told me to reboot. So I rebooted and got a BSOD. Apparently you can't just remove IE from XP because it's an integral part of the OS. If IE6 isn't there waiting to take its place, the system dies. You can and I've done it twice with no problems. It was installed after XP was and it can be removed as was shown in MS's own words. What happened next? Cold Steel
After that, I got a new hard disk and installed from scratch. Still got the old disk, but it doesn't boot. I get an error telling me my SYSTEM file is either missing or corrupted.
