EMC and Lightscribe

DaJack

Question

i'm new to this so pardon my ignorance. i have an older custom built desktop. if you need the specs on the machine i have made a copy with belarc advisor and can email to you or you can ask me what you need to know. but anyway, this doesn't happen occasionaly but always. after i burn an image onto my disc using lightscribe, i always get an error report, and then it says program has to shut down, do you wish to send an error report to microsoft. i have done this a couple of times. then, this has only happened once, when i went to burn a label with lightscribe, my burnrer wouldn't be recognized by label creator, and all it would allow me to do was print a cd label. i have no idea what happened but know the lightscribe option is recognized. please help as this is pretty frustating.

That happened also to me, but for that you can download a 'diagnostics tool' from the Lightscribe site.

http://www.lightscribe.com

In my case, after I started that, it found a wrong registry setting and repaired it.

After that my Burner again was recognized as a LightScribe printer. :)

I don't think anyone, who frequents these forums, wants an e-mail. Post your computer specs here.

If anyone can help me, it would be great. I have a brand new HP, with Vista and purchased EMC9. When I open the express labeler, it prints on my Lightscribe DVDs fine. When I open the Roxio Label Creator and try to print to Lightscribe, it shuts down the program in error. I have updated the Lightscribe driver from their website, checked all my settings and it still crashes when using the full editor, works fine with the express label. Any ideas? Thanks!

Try updating the drivers from Lightscribe's web site. Perhaps your's got corrupted. Does the same thing happen with the label maker under tools (Surething)?
