Converting video from one format to another problem

Nav2k

Question

I have a few clips that i ripped to hdd from dvd. They convert to all formats but 3gp. When ready for converting the progress bar of conversion goes from 0 to 100% in a split second. However, there is no video file in 3gp mode in the folder that it was supposed to save to.

Any solutions for this problem ?

2nd prob though seperate from the above issue is that when splitting clips to convert to 3gp makes both video and sound go out of synch by about 2/10ths of a second. How can this be solved too ?

Which application are you using? VideoWave or Disc Copier in Video Compilation mode?

What program are you using? Not enough information.

using rmc 9 with disc copier to convert and video wave to edit clips so as to use disc copier to convert to 3gp. It has always worked but for last night onwards.

That was a very important piece of information that you didn't put in the first message. :angry2: So what got upgraded/updated/installed/uninstalled/cleaned/ got dirty (malware) last night? Anti-virus update? :)

No updates of any kind were installed. I had to reinstall rmc 9 because i had a message 2 weeks ago that the 'trial software has expired'. i had to reinstall the software again.

Would i have to do the same again ?

ps i have norton internet security suite on my pc that did not update in the past 36 hours.

Is this now happening with all clips or just some of them? Have you checked for malware? Defragged your disc? Have you tried to output (convert) that video to a 3gpp file using VideoWave?

You may want to see if you have a recent Windows System Restore point and roll your system back to where it was working before.

Thanks for your suggestion Sknis. System restore solved the issue. How about voice/video being out of synch ? Anyway to solve that ? Lastly, how about amplifying sound of the video to convert to 3gp ? Any tips ?
