DVD player/PC freezes at end of burning session

mari1729

Question

Dell XPS 400

1G ram

Windows Media Center Edition

No, I never installed IE 7 nor WMP 11

After many successful burning of videos to DVD's using Videowave and DVD Builder, I've been having trouble with the last few productions. I get either a "DVD Builder has encountered an error" message, or a "Finished with errors" message. After shutting down DVD Builder, if I right-click on the DVD drive icon and select "Open" from the context menu, the computer freezes and I have to pull the plug to shut it down.

I did a a Windows system restore to a few weeks before I installed EMC and reinstalled EMC (and didn't install some other software that I thought might be the problem). The first video I then tried to burn after this did burn correctly, but then the next one did not. Say problem of "Finished with errors" message.

Is this a problem with my DVD player? the disks?

Thanks.

You might have to restart the computer between burns to clear the memory.

Some people have success if they first burn to an 'image file' (.iso) and then use Disk Copier and that file to burn the DVD.
