Update 8.01

David Armstrong

Question

I keep reading about the download problems and I have yet to successfully download the 8.01 update. Tried Safari, tried Firefox, tried Internet Explorer on a PC, cleared cache, cleared cookies and still the same old nonsense. A file that won't download.

I have no trouble at any other web site except this one and the trouble all started when Sonic bought Roxio. Roxio products are good but your about to loose a customer because of this download mess. Any user should not have to go through all the "trouble" listed in the first paragraph just to download a file.

Very interesting all this update business.

Except it just will not work.

Installed and registered Titanium 8, advised update available, download, drag folder to Applications and goes through the whole set up thing and after installing the registration code key remains grayed out.

I see the solution with NetBarrier however my spotlight search reveals I have no NetBarrier installed.

Please any other suggestion as this is driving me batty.

:angry2:

ME TOO!!! THE "CONTINUE" BUTTON REMAINS GRAYED OUT!!! THIS IS INFURIATING!!!!

ME TOO!!!

The "Continue" button remains grayed out.....I KNOW my serial is valid as it worked with version 8, but with the updater to 8.0.1....it doesnt.

Exactly my problem, Keith. The Toast 8 has been registered and the code appears on my account page but this 8.0.1 will NOT load. I type in the registration code and the greyed out button remains the same and it is impossible to install the update.

Does anyone have a solution PLEASE or does anyone at Roxio even bloody care?

David, sit down and have a cup of coffee, I am having the same problems with all Roxio updates forever

Solution: ask a friend running winXP, to download those roxio updates with Firefox, thats working errorfree immediately !!!

Toast is a nice MAC software, but the ongoing problems downloading their updates with a mac are outstanding, I have given up !!!!

Empathize David, totally. Tried same with many variations on browser settings.

Fresh download of Camino browser and found this Japanese site for Toast Titanium 8 upgrade to 8.0.1:

http://www.roxio.jp/support/download/toast...ti_updater.html

zip file dnld good. dmg verified and opened slick as a weasle.

(Tried Roxio's site and a few mirrors with Camino, but no luck dnlding uncorrupted zip.)

(Safari, et al, still didn't dnld uncorrupted zip even with this site.)

Before with Safari, Firefox, zip would dnld from Roxio and mirror sites, but wouldn't verify dmg, a corrupted file. Message I got was "codec overrun" as reason disk image failed to mount.

Good luck to you ;-)

Hey Keith and David....success!!!!!!!

Trash all Toast articles using spotlight.

Insert Toast CD/DVD. double click and then drag the Toast icon to the application alias next to it. Note not to the Application list but to the alias.

After install, DO NOT OPEN or register. Double click updater and install in the same way, dragging to Applications alias. Window opens asking if want replacement, click yes.

After update installs, then open by double clicking the toaster icon, and then enter the key code and the continue button blues up and away you go with the question about registering.

Don't ask me why this worked but struth it would have helped to include this information with the (lack of) instructions.

Let me know how you go and good luck.

I am downloading it now on my MacBook Pro as I write this. I didnt have any problems at all. Are you unable to logon to roxio.com to get the download link? I am using safari 2.0.4 if it helps. Are you using any download managers?

John, I am able to logon to Roxio.com, and I am getting the download link. As soon as I activate the download-button, I am getting bounced back to the following link:

http://www.roxio.com/REGISTRATION/login.as...;download_id=81

This is reproducable with Safari 2.04 and Firefox 2.0. I do not get any error-message and I am not using any download manager and I do not have any problems with any downloads from Apple or othe companies.

Every time I need an Roxio update, I have to ask a WinXP friend ,that is boring and goes on for years now, only with ROXIO !!!! I am running OSX 10.4.9 on an 20" 2.1 Ghz iMac G5, this should be reproducable on your side !!
