record tv

VKS

Question

Ok, so I recorded some shows on my computer using this tv tuner thing that came with my computer. It gives me the option to record to a dvd. Is there a way I can delete individual frames before I burn? I would like to delete the commercials if possible. Thanks bunches, VKS.

I have Roxio Creator DE preinstalled on my Dell Dimension E521. I'm not sure what format the files are but when I open a video file it asks me to convert the file so that it can be edited, yet the edit movie button is grayed out.

Sounds like you have Windows Media Center Edition which creates dvr-ms files when recording TV. Those files will always be converted before they are added to a project. However, Roxio Creator DE is a special version just for Dell. The 'edit' ability could be disabled in that version. We have no way of knowing since it is an OEM version.

What format are the files? Do you have the full version of Easy Media Creator 9 or something more limited that was pre-installed on your computer? Do you have the EMC 9 VideoWave application? What kind of computer do you have? More detail needed.

Normally, one would edit video files using VideoWave to cut out the commercials. This is one way; This is another. You can use the search function at the top of this page to search for "chapter markers".
