Play Next Menu Title?

kitykity

Question

In Roxio 7, in preferences, there was a box that asked if you wanted to have the DVD return to the main menu after playing a movie, or play the next title...

is that feature gone in Roxio 8? Because I can't find it... after playing each title, it just goes back to the menu...

Thanks!

Susan

The "Play Next Title" option is not available in the current version of EMC8. Your alternative is to add each production to a single title.

No way!! So they have removed the two options I used the most--mp4 support in VideoWave, and "Play next title" in DVD Builder (if you will)...? Why do I even have 8 installed? Argh!

By the way--off topic--but I have not been able to get the 8 upgrade from the web page to install. It tries to tell me I don't have 8 installed on my hard drive... and at this point, I kind of wish I didn't... I'll stick with 7.

You keep stating that Videowave 7 supports MP4. I can't find it anywhere. As far as I can tell, V8 supports the same file formats as V7. You can setup a custom format, but as soon as you select MPEG, it only shows MPEG2. You can also select custom AVI which will allow you to use the Microsoft MPEG4 codec and V8 will do the samething.

You are correct. VW 7 and 7.5 could not output to MP4. I have no clue how Kity1Kity did that in those versions. :)

I don't know why it's so hard to believe. Why would I go on and on about something if it weren't true? I even wrote an entire tutorial about it (course it was in the old forums, I'm not sure if it's still here). Here's a screen shot from my VideoWave with Roxio 7:

I have 3ivx installed, which I've also mentioned several times.

When I make movies with VideoWave, I can output directly to mp4 format... with Videowave from Roxio 7. Doesn't work with 8.

Something else going on… I just checked 2 of my PCs with V7 and there is no mp4 option.

Of course the question remains, if V7 shows it, why not V8???

Perhaps V7 can use 3ivx because you have that codec installed, but it is NOT part of the EMC7 installation. The whole codec issue I find very confusing. If it's installed, then the application should be able to use, but that's not always the case. Videowave isn't the only software that does this. I have other software that only shows what it installed - period. Doesn't even show the Microsoft codecs.

Yep, just installed 3ivx and mpeg4 is there now. I did have it installed at one time before a reformat and it was still on my D partition. I don't have 7 or 7.1 installed but do have 7.5 installed and it wasn't a choice before adding 3ivx.

I'll have to see if that works with V8, but I assume it doesn't since kity1kity says it's missing. But certainly wouldn't hurt anything to try it myself.

Don't see mpeg4 option in 8 after installing 3ivx.

I didn't doubt kity1kity, just found it odd that many more of us didn't realize this before. Personally, mpeg4 is not a big deal to me but I do understand why it's an important part of the video world and should be offered.
