myDVD Settings selection is not accesible

johnboy

Question

In myDVD 8, I am unable to view the settings dialog box either through the menu or through icon. The settings menu selection is grayed out except when in production Editor and clicking on it has no effect. The Show settings icon and Dock Settings icon are grayed out. How do I get to the settings dialog box?

Which version of MyDVD 8 do you have? Not all options are available in all versions.

To verify the version you are currently running, you may launch an EMC 8 Suite application such as Creator Classic and click on HELP-->ABOUT .

Larry:

I receive the same information although I forgot the ENU portion of the build on my last posting. (Sorry)

That indicates that you have the regular EMC 8 suite (there was also a Deluxe version). As I recall, those options that are greyed out are only available in the EMC 8 Deluxe suite.

This was a complaint by a lot of users of the v8 line of products. Too many variations and limited functionality in the mid-low range versions. It's something they seemed to listen to and changed in the v9 line.

Suggestion, try the free trial version first - there is a separate forum for that. Make sure you have a copy of V8. Uninstall V8, clean up all remnants (Windows Uninstaller) and then install V9 to a clean defraggmented hard drive with your anti-virus off. If you don't like V9, you can always do a clean uninstall and install V8.
