Why Won't Emc 7.5 Work - It's A New Install!

yofreetime

Question

I just installed the Maddog Multimedia drive and the Roxio software won't work. The cd said Easy Media Creator 7 and then when I installed it, it says Easy Media Creator 7.5. I checked the version and I have installed version 7.5.3.51 ENU. This seems more recent than the update I can download from the roxio website. Is this correct?? The latest Roxio website update is only 7.5.2. Anyway, I am getting an error message when I try to Copy Files to Disc. The error message is Dragon Engine Initialization failed. What can I do to fix this so I can use my burner and my Roxio 7.5 software?

Thank you,

Brad

I don't know what was wrong but I uninstalled and then reinstalled and now it is working fine. I have already burned 2 DVDs. In between the install I updated my OS with XP service pack 2. I don't know if that made a difference or not. The update came available to me at that moment so I updated and then installed roxio and now it works. Hopefully this will help someone else at some point.

The version that usually comes with purchased drives is the Basic version but some do give you the full version. If it's the Basic version, there is no update.

As for the Dragon Engine problem, you should install Napster from napster.com, reboot and your problem should be fixed. You can always remove Napster after if you do not use it.
