Ecdc5 On Server2003 And Direct Cd

Recommended Posts

I just started as IT manager at a small company, that I want to remain nameless. Someone before me installed Easy CD Creator 5 and Direct CD ON THE SERVER. The server is not the most stable, as I need to reboot it weekly, or it will get erratic on the 2nd week. Other then the weekly reboots, it runs ok. Is there any reason to remove ECDC5 and/or DirectCD, or just leave well enough alone? I think I will leave well enough alone, but if there is a good reason, I can uninstall it. Thanks in advance.

Server 2003, SBE W/ SP1

Dell PE1800

Intel 3ghz CPU

2 gig ECC Ram

280 Gigs on Raid 5

Actually, as of WinXP SP2, ECDC 5 isn't supported at all.

Altho if your company is running WinXP, which has the ability to burn data and music CDs, you might check as to why ECDC 5 is running - it might be superflous.
