Audio Question

HRPufnstuf65

Question

Hello All,

It's been a good few weeks since my last question, and i don't want anyone getting lonely out there :D .

Anyway, I work mainly with videowave, but this is strictly an audio question and I haven't really researched that area of EMC9.

So the big question...... How can I edit an mp3 file so I can trim the dead air before and after the song? Thanks again, everyone!!!

Use Sound Editor. It will let you zoom in, if you need to.

Thanks grandpabruce for the lightning-fast response but I realize I didn't go into enough detail with my problem. I was in Sound Editor and got as far as clicking and dragging to cut the "dead air" beginning and ending, but then when I tried to save it, it read something to the effect that I need to save production, and when the 'save as' box came up, it was as a file type that clearly wasn't an MP3. Does this make more sense? Thanks again!!!

In Sound Editor, load your .mp3 file.Highlight the bit you want to remove (zoom in if necessary), click cut.

Now right click on the left in project view under tracks (that is the modified file), click export track. Select the format in the Output settings drop down box, browse to where you want it saved, give the file a name, Click Export.

It is done that way so that your original file (listed under clips on the left) is not altered.
