CANNOT write data to disk

I cannot copy data to disk. I have Roxio emc 7.0. I have uninstalled IE 7... still doesn't work. I uninstalled emc 7 and then reinstalled. My recorder is Lite-on ltr48247s. I tried updating that but couldn't do it. I get 2 error messages: 1. scsi request aborted by host, 0x2100000a and 2. Power on reset or bus device reset occurred-unit attention (6/29/00) What can I do?

They are not Roxio errors. Try updating the firmware for your burner.

What happens if you try burning a small test file using the XP'S burning capabilities.

If that fails as well, then its probably the burner.\

I assume this just started happening (it worked ok before).

I tried to update firmware for burner but was unable to do so because my model was not listed. I tried to copy using Roxio on my other computer and it won't work either (identical computer). I tried XP and it won't burn either.

Get a new burner for your computer.

What kind of disc?

 

It says here (3rd from bottom) - LITE-ON LTR-48247S (48x/24x/48x CD-RW).

 

So it's not going to do anything with a DVD disc.

 

Also, lets make sure this is a BLANK disc, or if not a blank disc, what the status of it is.
