No drive detected

ricardo

Question

All of a sudden EMC 9 is not recognizing my DVD-RW/CD-RW drive. The odd part is that Drag-to-Disc sees it but I cannot burn since any other tool does not detect the drive.

I removed and re-install the software to no avail. I tried uninstalling the DVD/CD driver to no avail

Any suggestions?

thanks, ricardo

I'd love to know what causes the sudden loss of drive recognition that the patch fixes.

Ricardo, have you recently installed some software that might have taken over the drive?

Could be this bit Paul

Thanks so much for the fix!!!!!!!!! It worked great! Yes run the patch stated below. Fixed my issues at least.

It works a great percentage of the time but not always but it is good to hear back from folks whether it worked or not. Thanks for letting us know.

Give the pxengine update patch a try. It should get things working again.

Not sure what causes it but one of the things the patch fixes is the Filters (at least that's how it was explained to me).
