Editing Photo in Photosuite to use in Videowave project

Penny

Question

In EMC9 photosuite should I be able to create a new canvas add a photo and mat or frame without the system slowing to a crawl and sometimes not responding at all? Does the resolution I'm using (600 DPI)have anything to do with the problem?

Assuming that you have EMC 9 and not a stand alone version of Photosuite.

Turn off the Media Manager watch folder function. It may be watching and cataloging every change to make to the images. Some people turn it off, some people delete it. If you know where you are going to save your files, then it would not be worth keeping it running. You could also edit your start up items so that it doesn't start at boot up. That way you could still use it when you don't need to be doing anything else.

Yes I have EMC9 - Where do you turn off the Media Manager watch folder function? MSconfig start up tab?

I would really like to delete it. Can I use control panel add remove programs?

Thanks for answering and anything else you can tell me. I have read these forums till my eyes are blurry,

maybe I won't go blind thanks to you.

Open Roxio Home. Applications, Media Manager, Click Tools menu. If the dropdown list has an entry Stop Watching Folders, click on that (if it is already not watching folders it will say Start Watching Folders). Diito with the LiveShare and MediaSpace entries on that menu. Close Media Manager.
