Edit content of an Audio/Video DVD - How to

Richard Lionheart

Question

Hi,

I record stuff off cable onto DVD using a DVR. I can do limited editing of the DVD contents until I finalize the DVD.

I can copy a finalized DVD to my Windows hard-drive in the form of a single ".c2d" file. Is there any way to manipulate such files? Does any component of Roxio 7 enable a user to:

1. extract a single "title" from such a file and save it to disk?

2. delete a specific title from the .c2d file?

3. add a title previously extracted from one file and append it to another .c2d file?

Thanks in advance,

Richard

Not with version 7+.

There are a couple of things you can do. If you Capture the video from your DVD, you can then put the portions that you want onto a storyline in VideoWave and then add the productions to a new menu in DVD Builder and burn the DVD. Unfortunately, you have to capture the entire DVD.

If you can burn the DVD to your hard drive, you can try renaming the .vob files to .mpg and then import those files in DVD Builder. ( Some people have success with this technique and some don't.)

Now version 9 has more capabilities when working with compilation DVDs, but you're going to have to ask in the EMC 9 boards for the details.
