Importing Issue?

zcam875

Question

Hey everyone. Long time listener first time caller. I have a problem with importing on Media creator 9. I am trying to use My DVD. I am trying to load a bunch of different dvds from a sony handy cam that have been made into DVD discs, to make condensed movies. I have about 13 DVD discs that need to be imported onto my computer so I can incorporate them and make less discs. The problem is that if I try importing them from my computer dvd drive to the computer it is taking forever!!!!!!!!!!. I have been letting one disc import for about an hour and a half and its at like 33%, and it only has 28 minutes worth of video on it. Is there something I can do to make this faster? I also tried using DVDshrink software to put the dvds on my puter which it does but MYDVD will only recognize the video files and not put the audio with it even though the audio is there. I am new to this software so if I am missing something obvious please be nice. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I need to get this thing to import the videos faster.

Thanks Nick

I checked the project settings, and there was not selectable option for audio. The only thing I saw for audio was under the encoding section, which was set to fit to screen. I switch it and tried selcting the two different audio options and neither worked to produce sound. The vob files are ready and go import to dvdexpress but there is no sound when I preview the movie. I did check the help center but my help center does not show all the links that you show. Again thanks for the help.

I am having similar problem as reported by zcam875. {I purchased Dell E520 with Vista few days ago which came bundled with OEM version of Roxio Easy Creator 9 .}

When I try importing VOB and IFO files produced by Sony DCR-DVD-405 camcorder, sound goes missing in imported files. MyDVD9 , however, showed me a warning before import that went something like this - " the audio is stored in AC3 format which is not supported by this version. Please visit roxio website to purchase an upgrade" :angry:

I am also having all sorts of other problems trying to import DVDs produced by DCR-DVD-405 and trying to create a "merged" larger DVD out of smaller disks. However, I will try few experiments first before posting additional questions.

You, and the OP, have a stripped down OEM version of the software that shipped with your computers. Talk to Dell to see if they will give you some kind of deal on the full version of the software, if they have it, which is doubtful.

Hello! Well I thought I had figured out another way to do it last night using Windows DVD maker. I got every thing in the program and got it all setup, but when I burned it there was a glitch and it keeps repeating the first chapter over and over, and some other things dont really work right.

Here are the specs for the roxio creator that I have: Roxio Creator Basic v9, Version: 9.0.114.

I can get the vob files onto DVD express but when I preview them with DVD express or when I burn a disc there is no sound. When I try to play them in another program they work and there is sound.

I dont know what is going on with it. I guess I will just keep plugging away at it and try to figure something out.

Thanks for all the help so far.

On your MyDVD Express screen click, project settings. What do you have set for audio?

Have you read here?

Use Explorer to copy the files to the hard drive. Or use disc copier to rip to the hard drive as folders. The audio is in the video, use a DVD player and see, it has audio. Won't videowave see the vob's in the video ts fiolders and add them instead of importing?

I'm not sure what form of the program you have. Open it and go to help about at the top of its screen, post your version #. When I open my DVD Express I can add vob files in it and Edit My DVD also, try it in yours.
