ECD 5 Disc Copier hangs

Running ECD 5.3.5.10 on Win XP. I am up to date with my Windows Updates ,and I have IE 7.

I can burn a cd from the hard drive using ECD 5, but when I use the disc copier utility it hangs while writing the Table of Contents on data and audio cds. I have tried Nero and Ashampoo and they both work fine, so I know my drive works fine.

Any suggestions would be great! I have tried uninstalling end reinstalling and even using Roxizap (which gave me the blue screen of death). I have also stumped Dell.

Try rolling back to IE6, it may work, it may not.

It's like ECDC 5 is not supported in XP-SP2, some users have no problems, most do.

Try it, nothing to loose.

Let us know what happens.

You are assuming that current programs will be equal to a program that hasn't had any updates since 2003.

ECDC 5 is OLD software. If you can get it to work with WinXP SP2, you are fortunate.

Since IE 7 "breaks" Versions 6, 7, 7.5, and 8, I would assume you would have problems with Version 5.

You shouldn't have any problem with the latest Version of the other programs you referred to.

Thanks, all!

It sounds like my parents and some friends of mine are the lucky ones getting ECD 5 to work on machines with XP SP2 and IE 7. I think my best bet is to chalk the time I have spend up to this point trying to get ECD 5 to work as an education, and use another program. Too bad!

If its only Disc Copier that is not working its not all that bad news, you still have your other programs that you can use to Copy your disc's.

Thanks for the feedback.
