CD Key Won't Work

Question

I just downloaded EMC 9, after paying for the download, and when it prompts for the CD key (even though I don't have a CD), the key that was provided in the receipt I was given will not open the program. Is there a work around to this or some other option other than waiting for Roxio to reply to my request? It has been several days since I wrote and I have not heard anything from them.

I had the same problem. Key wouldn't work. Here's what I learned on a post from some one. Go to Control Panel. Go to uninstall programs. Uninstall all of Roxio programs. Restart Computer and reinstall downloaded software. I did this and then the key worked. Hope this works for you.

I wish I hadn't tried the uninstall of everything :)

 

I have tried the uninstall with the install cleaner, removal of all registry entries and deleting all of the files with no luck.

 

I have opened a ticket but now I am starting to worry since there seems to be an aboundance of users who are not getting any replies from support. We will see what happens this week.

 

I can say I am really suprised by all the problems that I am seeing on the forums, I have always had an excellent expirance with roxio in the past so I am suprised, that the install didn't work.

Sorry it didn't help you. I wish you all the luck. You're gonna need it. I finally got a reply from Roxio after several times contacting them through their web tickets. They sent me another Key. Sorry Roxio. I already got it fixed from the good people on this forum helping each other.
