This is a users forum, not Roxio tech support, and we are users like you. I have no problem with .avi files, but I don't deal with .divx or .xvid files.
I am having real trouble here with .avi divx not burning to dvd in EMC 9, I have followed the directions perfectly in the above link for the thread (roxio has the same one in the KB as well), I have the divxdec.ax file in system32, but after following the directions to "repair" and/or Uninstall/re-install EMC 9, the DivxDec.ax file never shows up in system32, so naturally I cannot complete the process. I cannot find this file anywhere. I am running Vista Home Premium.
Has anyone had this problem? Everyone else seems to find the DivxDec.ax file no problem, I am ready to pull my hair out here. Any input/assistance would be greatly appreciated.
better yet, if anyone can post a link to the EMC 9 version DivxDec.ax that would be fantastic, I have searched for this on the installation cd and cannot locate it, I wonder if it is supposed to get created when installing the software and for some reason is not working for me.
