tsantee
My finished audio CDs are of low volume. How do I increase gain when making an audio CD? Use the Normalize feature that is described in this article. There also are gain controls in Toast but give the normalize feature a try first. John Link
Is there a way to find out if a track has been normalized? Is there a way to un-normalize a track? Where is the gain control? Thanks, John Link
John Link
In order to see whether a track has been normalized it is necessary to turn on the advanced mastering options in the preferences so that the gain of each track can be adjusted. I find it very strange that gain adjustment is considered an advanced mastering option but multi-band compression (one of the audio effects) is not. And please note that normalization does not make the tracks the same volume. Instead it simply increases the gain so that the track peaks at 0 (the maximum). So if you want to balance the volume of your tracks you will have to adjust the gain according to sound. John Link
