not a single cd dvd or dvdr dl is detected in roxio 9

Everytime I try to insert a blank cd dvdr or dvdr dl and i want to burn an image on the disk. It opens up my cdrom saying please insert a blank cd or dvd ect... I reinstalled it on my windows vista, but the same problem occurs every time. I tought this burning software might help me since nero 7 was freaking out on my windows vista. But im guessing roxio isnt near vista compatible.

What do you mean, "Nero 7 was freaking out on my windows vista"? Maybe it's a problem with the system if 2 different programs are having problems. Have you uninstalled Drag to Disc and Nero InCD? They can conflict with each other and Drag to Disc is not working in Vista presently.

well nero wasnt basicaly freaking out it was windows installer that kept crashing everytime i tried to install it. So i decided to switch to another program like roxio, it installed fine and i have uninstalled drag to disc but the problem still presumes, i tried everything i possibly could but i have found no solution of why this is happening.

I am also having problems with this. I am running vista and i find taht the blank cd or dvd is only recognised sometimes.

 

there seems to be no pattern to reading or not reading but it takes forever to try to read the blanks and then 60% of the time it does not detect them.

well im glad that im not the only one cuz roxio used to burn a couple cds before but right now every single disc in it says that i need to insert a blank cd

maybe the problem is your drive?
