Custom styles in MyDVD

In My DVD, starting with one of the preloaded styles, I changed the background video, button styles, etc. and saved it. In the save it preview it shows the main and chapter menus (pic 1). It also gets listed in the menu styles window but shows no preview (pic 2). If I load the style it works fine.

 

Am I doing something wrong or is this as expected?

That hourglass is troubling. Did you move or delete the image you used to create the custom menu? What format was the background you used? I'm not sure that is what the problem is but I do see the preview in my Custom Menu

The background for the custom menu shown in my post is not an image but a video clip (.wmv format) with internal sound track. replacing the original menu's clip (playtime adjusted, etc.). No additional background audio file added I also tried replacing the original menu background with just an image (.jpg format), but I get the same result: the main and chapter menus show in the save as style preview, but not when I select the menu. Also shows the hour glass. All the files used are where they were when creating the menu styles.
