I've had Vista for a few weeks and everything seems to be stable. I had to do a clean un-install of EMC9 because it wouldn't run. It appears many of you are running under Vista with minimal problems. So, I'm feeling brave and I'm ready to reinstall.
Do you have any advice; is there anything I should do to improve my chances of a successful reinstall? Do I need to shut down my virus software (Live-One Care)? And, I notice John's post about a DLA driver. I don't know what that is, but should I only install that if I run into problems? Do I need to run the install in Administrator Mode?
The installation program is the one I originally downloaded in November. Do I need to somehow get an updated version, or is RoxioEMCSuitev9[1].0_efisd_R03.exe the latest version? Or do I simply need to run the install and then "check for updates" from within the software?
Just so you know, I have a HP Pavilion Core2 Duo Processor E6300, 2G RAM, 300G Hard Drive, Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (not very good). Vista Home Premium.
Of course, I'll set a restore point and run my backup software before starting, just in case...
