Using toast i burnt a data dvd and that burned perfect. I used the same brand of disk that i was using when i was getting all those error msg's. I tried to burn another image (this time an .iso) and i got the same error. So for some reason i just cant burn images? I will try to convert an avi file into an image and try that? Maybe i've just got 2 bad images files????

cheers

Yeah I am using the option in the copy window. I have tried 2 different brands now but still the same. The .img file in a dvd so i mounted it then just burnt it using the dvd ts_folder option but still the error msg.

This may seem silly but with the .img file selected in the Copy window, choose Save as disc image from the file menu. Does this work? If it does try burning the newly saved disc image (.toast file).

Hi,

just tried the erase option and after about 15 mins got this error:

sense key=MEDIUM ERROR

sense code= 0x51

erase failed:

so by the look of that it's the disk right???

cheers

It seems to me that either the drive is very particular about the brand of media or the drive is failing. If it doesn't work with Verbatim media then I'd borrow and external drive from someone as a test. Mac Superdrives often have short lives.

Check with the drive manufacturer (or with Apple if this is a Superdrive) to see if any firmware updates are available for your drive.

Hi,

just tried what ya said but still no good. Saved as .toast file fine but failed on 99% with 5 sec's to go of the burn (using no branded dvd-r disks).

Is very strange cus i can burn anything else but not these types of files????

cheers
