Unable to install new version of Creator 9 Nedia Suite

texet

Question

:angry2: I have a Dell PC which had a basic version of Creator 9 installed. I decided to buy a full version of the Creator 9 suite and uninstalled the old version completley , I also removed every trace of sonic/roxio from my registry and then tried to install the new version but I get an error message invalid CD key. This appears to be a common error but I cannot find a fix as this is not a reinstall and the CD key for the new version hasn't of course worked.

Roxio support have provided no help and now ignore my web ticket updates.

Has anyone got any suggestions as to how I can resolve this problem please.

The problem appears to be with one file central33.exe and if I try to run this file all I get is a message saying that Roxio Creator has stopped working.

This affects the following which all use this file , RecordNow Audio, Easy Archive, RecordNow Copy, RecordNow data , and Home.

Thanks ... Option 3 on the post worked i.e. I downloaded and installed the fix and the CD key was accepted.

However I now have a new problem in that some elements have stopped working , apppears to be related to audio only as mydvd and photo work OK.

Maybe a repair install might work....give that a try.

Thanks I've tried a repair install , a uninstall and reinstall but still get the same problem.

I had the same issue originally when I had only Creator 9 and my dvd if I installed my dvd then creator 9 wouldn't work. I then decided to buy the full media suite but this hasn't resolved the problem. The only message I get is that Roxio Creator has stopped working so it's difficult to trace what is going on.

You're getting me confused - Central33 IS the Home exe file. If Home works, then that works - no other program uses it as far as I'm aware, especially if called from the start menu

Go to Program Files\Common Files\Roxio Shared\9.0\Roxio Central33\Main and try running it from there (just double click it) and it should bring up the Home program interface

Sorry for any confusion.

I've tried running the file central.exe and get the message Roxio Creator Has Stopped Working.

Basically anything which uses central.exe on my PC doesn't work , without an error message I'm finding it hard to identify the problem.

Then you need to uninstall the program and doing a clean install, as per the following:

Your earlier post mentioned that it seemed to be related to audio. Could you elaborate on that a bit more? What is it exactly you are trying to do and what, if any, errors are you getting?

Roxio_Central33.exe is the Home Menu program

Can you run any of the apps individually from the Start>Programs>Roxio menu?

The apps I mentioned in my last posting ( RecordNow Audio, Easy Archive, RecordNow Copy, RecordNow data , and Home) are the only ones which will not work.

Everything else is OK except these apps which use the file central33.exe.
