Error 1720 Windows installer error

Okay... Put the cd in, starts the installation, enter the key, it start the validation check and then I get:

 

Error 1720. There is a probelms with the Windows Installer package. A script required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor.

 

Click ok, click finish.

 

Now I have only drag to disk option under roxio 9 EMC under all programs.

 

I have sp2, IE 6.0, virus & firewall off, windows defender off.

 

Can anyone help?

Download, and install the newest installer from Microsoft, and see if it works.
