Additional scenes on a DVD

Old Ranter

Question

Using MyDVD, I've created a project made up of 15 separate movies. The menu lets the viewer play the whole project or play any movie separately. However, I'd like to add an additional movie as a bonus scene, not part of the main movie, with a separate entry in the menu.

Is there a way to do this? The only options appear to be play all movies in the project, which would obviously include the extra one, or play all movies on the menu, which will only play those in that menu page, not including any linked menus.

This is where you run into trouble putting multiple movies on the main menu. Why not put all of the videos into ONE file?

In MyDVD, you can then create a main menu with 3 buttons:

One button plays the file

One button takes the viewer to a submenu to choose individual 'movies' (Scenes)

Then you can add your third button for the 'additional scenes'.

Works flawless

Thanks for the response. I've tried putting all the videos in one file, but I end up with two copies of each on the DVD. Is there another way?

Not if you 'copy' the first button to the clipboard and paste it back.

Start a new MyDVD project

Add your file and then rename the button 'Play' (or whatever)

Copy tha button to the clipboard and move the first one a little

Paste the clipboard back and rename that button 'Select Scenes' (Or some other description)

Right click on the second one and 'edit chapters' and mark the chapters.

Done - two buttons that point to the same file on the DVD.

You can then add your additional scenes.

But if you subdivide a single file into chapters, you can't play just a single chapter and go back to the menu, you can only play from the selected chapter to the end. So it's not possible to play just one scene.

Ideally, what I want to have is a button which plays the whole movie, a submenu which allows me to select and play a single scene, and a button which plays the bonus scene.
