Trying to copy 2 DVD's onto 1

Question

Hi All,

I recently got a dual layer burner, and am trying to make a single DVD from 2 seperate DVD's. The source DVD's are home movies, so they're not copy protected. I've tried using Disc Copy, but the .iso files show up as sub folders, and no files show in the selection window. I've also tried using My DVD, but am having no luck there either. The manual and help features aren't really all that helpful. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

The home movies are already in DVD discs? If so, you can use Disc Copier. Point to the DVD disc as the source. Choose the movie(s) and extra(s) you want to include from that DVD. There is a Preview icon to view the slection. Then for Destination, choose MPEG-2 as format and check off the File/Folder as the output. Finally clcik the Save as button on the upper right hand side to navigate to the folder where you want to save the extracted movi(s)/extra(s).

Do the same step above for the second DVD.

After doing the above, you now have mpg files. Either work on them in Videowave if you want to do further editing. Or you can directly bring them in to MyDVD as two separate titles for authoring and eventually burn a new DVD.

When I try that, the resulting .mpeg file is only about 1/2 the movie. The info for the selection states the correct running time, but the resulting file size after conversion is only about 1/2 the original, and playback ends at about 1/2 way thru. Is there a step I'm missing or something??
