Picture CD Creation

Rudel

Question

Hi - I just purchased the EMC9 software - my goal is to move photos from my computer to a CD-RW and then view the photos on a portable Polaroid DVD player - Polaroid tech support also advises that the CD needs to be "finalized" .

I open EMC9 & select burn - I then select Browse my hard drive and I can navigate to the folder that contains the photos but am unable to then open the folder to view individual pictures ?

Any help would be appreciated .

Which application in the suite are you using? Please provide the steps you did.

I just double click the EMC9 desktop icon - when the start screen appears, over to the right there are several options - I selected "Burn" and then you have the opportunity to select items to burn.

What is the heading name of the pane where you selected "Burn"? Some heading names are Backup, Copy and Data.

Rudel,

I think your choosing Burn Image, works after a image is made. Either go to photo and choose create slideshow or video and choose edit video. That opens videowave, tools new slideshow. Then select VCD or SVCD for CDR/RW or DVD!

Does the image below resemble the inetrface where you selected "Burn"? What is the version number of your software?

It says "Burn", not "Burn Image"?

Anyway, if you just want to copy data files, you can use Creator Classic. :)

Looks like your Polaroid portable DVD player is capable of playing JPEG files, then Creator Classic should be ok to just copy JPG files.

Open the home page choose data, data disc, click add data and go to your folder with the jpg's. Down on the bottom right of the screen by the burn button click options. Then choose the cd recording options, leave the disc open or close it, use the drop down arrow.

thanks cd and everyone for the help - the advise was great - after burning, I finalized the disc like Polaroid advised and the DVD player recognized & displayed the photos as hoped .

Thanks again !!!!!

I was going to suggest the same thing, but I went to their site and found the same thing that malatekid found. It will play .jpeg files.

I should back up a bit - here's the timeline - I initially just dragged ( i.e. copied in a Windows context) the photos from my hard drive to the CD (it's CD-RW) - I then put the CD into the Polaroid portable DVD player and a message appeared saying "unknown disk" - I called Polaroid support and all they said was that the CD needs to be "finalized" ---- I knew Windows coudn't "finalize" & after a little more reseach discovered that software like Roxio could "finalize" --- and so I bought Roxio hoping that "finalizing" the CD would permit the Polaroid player to recognize it .

But I'm still not sure I know the difference between copying and burning ?? ---- but even if I use Roxio to either copy or burn the photos to the CD, the player still might not recognize it.

Since the tech support from Polaroid hasn't been the greatest, at this point I'm just trying different things.
