I'd suggest deleting it from the tray (lower right screen) and not using it

Sorry Lynn, I haven't had it installed for along time but I don't remember a delete option from the "tray". Like I said it's been along time!

There is another word for "tray", which I don't remember. But my software guru uses the other term, and it has caused lack of communication on occasion. (And of course, if you hit F11 to expand the screen, that entire bottom area goes away anyway.)

However, I didn't believe my software guru's warning NOT to use formatting and RW media as a backup, and lost the 80% of the data that wasn't also on the Hard Drive.

So, whatever term you use for different sections of the screen, Packet-Writing is NOT a great way to "save" data.

I didn't read Lynn's quote as meaning you could delete D2D directly from the "tray". I just read it as meaning you need to delete it so it doesn't show in the tray and then not use it. Of course one needs to know how to delete it to begin with, so I see what you were thinking cd.

To uninstall, go to Windows Add Remove Programs\ Roxio....\ Change \ Repair \ do a custom install and select the option to not install Drag to Disk.

Or under Start\ Run type msconfig OK\ go to the Startup tab and uncheck DrgToDsk.

If you want to run it, you could try adjusting the Windows Performance settings to Adjust for Best Performance (Control Panel\ System Properties\ Advanced \ Performance Settings\ Visual performance). Under the second tab (Advanced) adjust the Virtual memory to a minimum of your computer's RAM and maximum of 2x your RAM.

Windows might be trying to write to a protected portion of the memory.

Or your computer might be having an overheating problem that's causing the restart.
