DVD Audio extraction

katonah

Question

using easy media creator 8 I tried to extract audio from a protected DVD-to-MP3 for burning to CD to listen in the car. I got the DVD was protected. I found a program on call ************* and was able to accomplish the task, but was wondering if EMC8 is technically unable to accomplish the samething?

ty for the prompt help and etiquette lesson, but thought it allowable for personal use. . . I'll have to destroy the CD and erase the program

As Larry has pointed out - Roxio's program suites are not capable of processing dvd's that have css encoding on them.

There are numerous tools available to assist you in backing up your dvd and extracting audio from a video file.

I suggest you peruse articles and forums in places like these for help:

EMC 8 cannot do it because in most places doing so would be illegal. Naming programs here that can break copy protection also isn't allowed, for the same reasons.

It may be allowable by law where you live, or it may not. That's not to say your fellow users here agree personally or not with the laws, but since Roxio sponsors this user site, and they do business in countries like the US where it is against the law to copy copy protected material, posting the names of programs that will break the protection isn't allowed. There are a lot of sites out there that do discuss it tho if one was to Google for them.

What you personally decide to do with the disc and program is up to you. No one here is making any judgements. :) Just trying to keep the site from being shut down :)
