MyDVD 6.2.0 Wont get someTV recordings

HOWARDSS

Question

I have an HP that came with MyDVD installed on it. When I press the get recorded TV programs, programs that are 2 hours long don't show up! When I try to import them I get an invalid Media type error. I have no problems with 1 hour recordings. I was told that the program can handle larger files by sales help and suggested that I call tech support for $35. The online chat (after about 45 minutes) told me that the program is OEM and cannot do this. Who is correct?? What should I do.?

Does anyone have the delux sonic myDVDv7 and have the same problem?

Your software can support files that big.

What we've found with these EMC recordings is that if the drivers become corrupt or are just older than a certain driver release they start to drop frames.

The problem seems to cause the most trouble in longer files. It could be that the longer the card has to work it heats up and bad stuff happens or my preferred theory that these dropped frames always occur and the longer the card records, the better probability that the file is going to experience the problem.

I'm not sure why you were being told bad information from the online chat, I apologize for that. Something is wrong with the files.

I recommend that you update the drivers for the capture device and then recapture new files and see if they exhibit the same behavior.

What card are you using?

nvidia GeForce7500le

Drivers are all current.

Its not that Im losing frames I cant get a 2hour better quality movie imported!
