What Video Card Will Work?- to burn

favrr15

Question

Well, I have not given up yet....I have yet to burn one of my dvd projects.

I have had EMC9 since February.

I have updated all video card drivers, 9x, etc. Purchased 2 video cards. Recent one is geforce fx5200 (shown below in specs)

I called dell thinking it was my pc and they said i have all the current drivers, updates, etc.

I use videowave and try and burn and then gives me a error code of 8004520c.

I have tried this below from a previous post and my 13 minute project was burning @ 5% after 3 hours. I finally canceled.

PLEASE HELP>>>>>>>

Tried this below & didnt work,,,,,,

If you have these encoding errors follow these suggestions.

a) Follow the advice of the KB and update your video driver to the latest available version for your card. If you have the feeling Roxio 9 has always run erratic on your system it will certainly be your video driver.

If you update your driver and its still runs erratic consider another video card.

LOAD ALL ROXIO sub programs from the desktop

Start all the ROXIO sub programs from the "Start" "All Programs" and select Videowave, MyDVD and DiscCopier as you wish..(thank you keke)

c) Disconnect from the Internet

d) Run "msconfig" then click the StartUp TAB, select Disable ALL, and then reboot the system

e) Open VideoWave using the Desktop "start" "all programs" method

f) Create your slide show including movie clips etc.. if you wish..

g) Save it..and Close VideoWave

h) Open MYDVD using Start..All Programs..method

i) Add your videoWave file..using Add Movie and set up your menu's as you wish

j) Under File "Program settings" if your show is under 1 hour..Choose HQ. High Quality. Be sure to click the radio button to normalize the audio levels..

k Save your MyDVD creation

l) Select "Burn to disk file" (ISO)

m) When complete close MyDVD and Open DisK Copier with the Start..All programs method

n) Burn the DVD from the ISO file. Note Disk Copier will burn the DVD at the same quality found in the ISO File.

The Geforce FX5200 was one of the first nVidia chipsets to handle DirectX 9 and it maybe showing its age. DirectX 9 has been updated and changed many times since then. Granted the FX5200 'should' work in the hardware render mode, but force MyDVD to the 'software' render mode and see if that works.

I did force into software on MYdvd and it stopped at 31% overall progress and stopped current task encoding movie at 33%.

Probably have to get a 4th video card huh?

Just go to nVidia.com and download the latest one and install it. Also make sure you have the latest DirectX 9 (apr2007) from Microsoft.

I have updated my driver and directx9 (4/07).

I DID :) finally get a project to burn. I had to go to start, programs and open up mydvd and then add.

I could not get a project to burn when I was in videowave and click on the DVD icon on top.

It came back with the ERRor code of 8004520c.

I feel that EMC9 is still not running up to par and is just a matter of time b4 I found something else that will go wrong or something else that wont work.

Your thoughts?
