Since installing EMC v9 I've had strange issues with my DVD devices. There are three, two internal and one external (USB 2.0).
O/S is XP Professional, SP2.
They simply disappear with no indication in Event Viewer that there exists any issues. Device Manager shows them present.
When a DVD is inserted and you attempt to access same through Windows Explorer one of two messages will be returned depending on the drive: (1) Incorrect Function, or (2) Insert Media.
Media is present in the drives. I've tried various makes of media just for the heck of it with no change.
I've also flashed the BIOS. No change in this behavior.
