Larry
Would disabling RoxMediaDB9 under the services tab stop Digital Experience from coming up? Even changing everything to manual didn't work. Digital Media Experience keeps coming up every time I put a DVD in. Thanks! Ok, so what you really want is for the discs not to auto play when you put them in. At least not using CinePlayer (the player in DMX). For that, you have to do something different. It has nothing to do with disabling/enabling services. Open up DMX and go into the settings for DVD playback and set it to not autostart when a disc is inserted.
CFS3 Ace
When I open up DMX, I don't even have an option for DVD settings (I used to have an option before).... All i have is Music and Pictures... Wasn't there a DVD option too? Thanks for your help!
CFS3 Ace
....Setting for DVD playback and set it to not autostart.... Is that the same as "Set as Default DVD Player"? I set that to "no". Let me know. Thanks!
jeanrosenfeld
Change the autoplay setting for DVD on your optical drive. You can select from: i) a list of apps that will autoplay the DVD when you insert a disc, ii) get a prompt to choose which app you want to use, or iii), take no action. magician
Disable it via msconfig. I tried that and it did seem to work. However I ran into other problems with something called tray watcher. Seems the best solution was to completely uninstall and then do a custom installation of only the components that I wanted. The key, I think, was to realize that even after selecting the components I wanted I still had to go back and uninstall drag-to-disk. Anyway, thank you for your suggestion and I'm sorry for taking so long to respond. I tried that and it did seem to work. However I ran into other problems with something called tray watcher. However, that is a completely different thread.

sknis
Disable it via msconfig. Or do a file association change. You might want to turn off auto-play also.
rjgeisler
Or do a file association change. You might want to turn off auto-play also. Disabling in msconfig does not shut it down and neither does file associations. How do I just uninstall the DMX experience?

It worked for me. If it didn't work for you, go to services and make all Roxio entries, manual.

grandpabruce
How do you make the services in msconfig manual? You don't. You do it through Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Services.
