Would disabling RoxMediaDB9 under the services tab stop Digital Experience from coming up? Even changing everything to manual didn't work. Digital Media Experience keeps coming up every time I put a DVD in.

Thanks!

Ok, so what you really want is for the discs not to auto play when you put them in. At least not using CinePlayer (the player in DMX). For that, you have to do something different. It has nothing to do with disabling/enabling services.

Open up DMX and go into the settings for DVD playback and set it to not autostart when a disc is inserted.

Disable it via msconfig.

I tried that and it did seem to work. However I ran into other problems with something called tray watcher. Seems the best solution was to completely uninstall and then do a custom installation of only the components that I wanted. The key, I think, was to realize that even after selecting the components I wanted I still had to go back and uninstall drag-to-disk.

Anyway, thank you for your suggestion and I'm sorry for taking so long to respond.

To complete the thought, the real solution would be for Roxio to deliver a much-needed update. However, that is a completely different thread.
