EyeTV and Toast 8 - Skipped Frames

bduke0079

Question

I have an iMac C2D and am trying to create DVDs from some programs from EyeTV v2.4 with Toast 8.0.1. The original files play fine, but when Toast encodes them, they loose frames. I can go to the file which Toast stores the encoded files into and they skip there, it isn't just the burned disc. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you search for "Jerky Video" in this forum, you will find that this periodically becomes a "hot topic". There have been 55 responses and 3,144 views (currently) to this "non-existing" problem -- so obviously it is widespread -- no solutions -- perhaps more cowbell. :(

Which EyeTV model do you have? Is it encoding its own MPEG2 video or is it capturing an existing MPEG stream? You say that Toast encodes the video so I'm guessing yours captures existing streams. Please describe the specs on the EyeTV video such as the resolution and frame rate. Is this NTSC or PAL?
