sg1
I know as readers you can not help, just passing this on as info. I have purchased 7 Roxio products over time and NEVER once received my rebate with out a fight (if then) there is always an issue even when purchased direct from Roxio. I purchased direct and then when I tried to get a rebate on the next upgrade I was told it was not a qualifing version, after many calls and email, they said this was wrong and I got the rebate, $20. I currently have the same issue with a Staples purchased version (why did I purchase from staples instead of Roxio, Roxio upgrade offer to me was $30 more than staples before the rebate.) roxio will not talk to me on the issue I guess loyal customers are not important the product is good - too bad they can not get the price and rebate issues resolved

I also think that have a quota of rebate requests that they have to reject. There are some exceptions, one electronics company allows you to request a rebate on-line using only your sales date and time. Why will Roxio not talk to you on the issue? Did the company handling the rebate reject your request because something was missing? Did you contact that company? I hope you copied all the documentation and resubmitted it as requested. As for what seems to be a rant about prices - Staples was using that good price to get you into the store. They were probably selling at a loss (loss leader) hoping that you would buy something else in the store where they will make a bigger profit or just to get you into the store to see what they have to offer. A lot more effective than a TV or newspaper ad.
REDWAGON
I hate rebates. I won't send any more in unless they are at least $20 or more. And then I copy ever single thing I can and then send it "registered" mail through the USPS. That way I always get my card back showing who signed for it and when. The only problem is that USPS is charging an arm and a leg now to send a registered piece of mail. So that knocks off some of the rebate right off the bat. I've heard that Best Buy is doing away with rebates just because of all the hassle. And BTW, Steve is right about most of the big companies that offer rebates contract out the rebate business to some other company. So when a rebate goes bad for so some reason, everyone thinks it's the original seller. Most of the time the blame should go on the rebate company. Frank...
