Question

After removing Creator 8, so to install Creator 9, through the Add or Remove Programs and then restarting, both my sony dvd-cd player/writers are gone. Device manager says that they are there, but nothing playes and their icons don't show up under My Computer. Runnng XP.

Try this pxengine patch as it seems to work for most who try it.

Paul, I apprecitate that quick response, but will this work. I've uninstalled 8 and getting ready to install 9 and both DVD/CD don't show when I go to my computer. I put 9 into one of them and nothing happens.

It's listed under the v8 programs but has worked for many who only have v9. It won't hurt to run it.

You might have some conflict with some other software that's installed.

Paul, again thanks, I've download Windows Install Clean Up I found from some other threads on this site and that did remove it from my Add Programs list in my control panel. I did a restart and DVD/CD drives show up. Now, however, both the roxie file and the sonic file I deleted are still on my C drive. I tried to put them in the trash and I got the box that said some files where in use. Frustrating! I may just go ahead and install 9 and see what happens. I just don't want to do clean install of XP, if I can help it.

Maybe starting in safe mode will work in deleting those files. Be careful what you delete!

Ain't that the truth! I'm going to sleep on it and l'll let you know what happens. Again, thank you for the "hand-holding".
