AC3 sound format is unsupported on Creator 9?

The DVDs I want to edit apparently use this format; is there a way to HEAR THE SOUND while editing?

Yes it's supported in the retail version of EMC 9. It may not be if it is an OEM basic version (one that comes with a pc package, disc drive, etc...), it all depends on the OEM version.

Maybe if you explained better which version you have, what program(s) in the suite you are using, and what the options are you selected, someone can offer more information/suggestions.

Yes, it just came with my new HP computer with "wonderful" VISTA OS. :)

I just didn't expect the software to be second rate just because it came with a package deal.

Seems a bit of a tease or "bait and switch" to me.

I did find a thread about this from another guy having the same trouble and it looks like he never solved it.

All I wanted to do was some simple editing with a nice menu; is that SO HARD?

Yell at HP, then. Roxio didn't give you that stripped down version of the software, HP did. ;)
