Story Board locking up

Ross Higgins

Question

I am having a problem with the Story Board feature locking up on my videowave 7. When it locks up and hour glass appears that never will go away. I have to "control, alt, delete" to get out of that screen. When I do, I lose those editing changes. It then goes back to the DVD Builder screen if I am lucky. Any ideas what is going wrong?

Has it always done this or is this a recent problem?

Do you have IE 7 or WMP 11 installed on your system?

This is an ongoing problem. At first I thought it was tied to a slow video card, but I have replaced it with a GeForce 7950 GT OC 512 MB card. The computer is for video editing only. It has a two hard drive system, one for the program and one for storage. It has a Pentium Duel Core 920 processor (2.80 Ghz, 800Mhz FSB, 2x2MB cache). The hard drives are ATA II/300 7200 rpm w/8MB cache. I worring that the drives aren't fast enough. It is running IE 6.

I don;t think the drives are a problem. Have you tried doing a Repair thru Add/Remove programs yet?

Are you using Explorer 7? If yes Videowave7 as problem running correct.

What do you mean "repair?" Uninstall and Reinstall?
No, I mean go into Add/Remove programs in your control panel. then find v 7 on the list and select the Change button. One of the options on the next screen will be Repair. Choose that and run it.

PJH, that's already been asked and answered. BTW, your other post was split into it's own as it is different than this one.

I have a slightly different question......

Do you mean the StoryLINE feature in VideoWave or the StoryBOARD feature that is in DVD Builder? ( I think that you answered that question in the first post.)

StoryBOARD does lock up when you use it for editing unless you save the changes often..... which is a royal pain because you have to click Done and then open the production again.

Do your editing in VideoWave which is made for editing video.

The VideoWave production is linked to the DVD Builder production.....so if you've put the VideoWave production onto the DVD Builder menu, the changes that you make to the VideoWave production will automatically change in the DVD Buildern production.

That means that you can go back and open your original VideoWave production and the changes will show in the DVD Builder production.

Hope that helps.
