Question

hello,

i am trying to burn a mpeg 1 file 640*480 29.97 fps onto a dvd -r single layer. the whole process seems

to work. it goes through the whole process and says its finished. when i put it into my dvd player it doesn't

work. i tried to burn again same result. this time i used a different brand of dvd. i even tried to mount it with toast and the mac dvd player says format unsupported. this is my first mac and one of the main reasons i bought it was for video work, i am really really bummed. any help would be appreciated.

thx,

ken

Is this really an MPEG 1 file? Its specs are more like MPEG 2. If it is MPEG 1 then I think that is the problem. In the Toast Custom Encoder window choose Always Re-encode so that the video can be re-encoded to meet the DVD spec.

yeaaaahhhhhh. selecting the always re-encode option did the trick. everything now works great ! :D

plus the mac pro screams. to reencode three files and burn takes between 30 - 45 minutes. thanks to everyone who replied, i appreciate it.

happy toasting,

ken
