WON"T BURN!

Bubbard

Question

:angry2:

I am sick of this product giving me burning issues.

Am trying to turn a slide show (mpg format) to a video DVD...for some reason, it gives me an "unknown error" after burning for a long time........so I say ok, for now, I'll do a data disk, then it burns the whole thing and takes a super long time to burn after the bar is full while burning....then it gives another unknown error (media is DVD-r)...however, when I burn to CD, it does just fine. Please help me burn to a video DVD and Data DVD as well as let me know what could be causing these effects. I want to strangle this product b/c it is full of errors.

THank you. BJ

I didn't go back over your other posts but have you already checked to be sure your firmware is updated? Are you burning direct to disc? If so, try burning to an image file.

Well, outside of your car won't start, you offered no information. Start from the beginning, but first, list your system specs, similar to how I have mine listed in my signature.

My problems with MyDVD9 were solved by the advice given near the end of this message thread... may help?

I have spent many hours creating a slide/music video which I tried to burn to a DVD-RW disc last night. The program did not read the disc. This seems to be a VERY common problem with EMC 9. Have people actually been able to burn DVD's??? I have been able to burn photos to DVDs before. I am hoping this is an easy fix since I am know nothing about computers besides the basics.

A bit more information please, all you have stated is "my car won't start".

What program are you using to create your project, Videowave or myDVD. Videowave is the recommended way to create the slideshow while you use myDVD to create the menus and do the burn.

What do you mean by "The program did not read the disc."? What disc are you referring to?

It is also helpfull if you were to list your computer specs like I have in my signature.

I Just Got Roxio on my compaq presario with windows vista pentium 4 processor with a super multi dvd burner i am having a problem with burning dvd's. It copies and burns cd"s just fine, but it will copy the dvd just fine. when i go to burn it to the blank disk it at first said insert dvd-dl, i figured out that it meant double layer dvd, so i went out and bought some. Now i am having the same problem except now it says there is a problem writing to disc. Can someone please help me.

I actually figured it out. I had to use a different media, DVD-RW, as opposed to DVD-R. Now, no problems at all. Am creating the project in Videowave, and buring with my DVD.

Instead of rendering and burning directly to the blank media, I'd suggest you set the output to the hard drive and open the resulting .iso file with disc copier.

One advantage here is that it will shrink an oversize .iso file to fit the blank media
