Cd Burn System Errors 33000...3, And Can't Update

gonzag4

Question

When I burn an audio cd with any number of mp3 tracks over 10 (under the 80-minute limit), EMC 7 gives me system error 3300...3 and ejects the CD-R after recording about 10 or 11 tracks.

I've tried rebooting, same problem.

I read that I might need the latest update/patch.

I downloaded the update "update70to71_2.exe", but when I try to install it, I get a dialog saying that the installer can't find the original program on my cd to update.

Any recommendations to either problem? Thanks ...

What version of EMC 7.0 do you have? That update will only work with the Retail (boxed) version. It will not work with the Basic version or the downloaded version.

I think there are are two possible problems involved here.

FIRST

An audio CD has a maximum of 80 minutes. How much time do those 10 or 11 tracks take? Because it is a question of time, not data. If you want an mp3 CD, you make a data CD (with, optionally, an M3U file.)

SECOND

If you downloaded the files, they probably have DRM (Digital Rights Management) code, and cannot be burned by anything other than what you signed an agreement is specificly allowed. You need to burn dirctly to a CD as you download - you can keep a CD-RW for the purposes, Then rip the files to your Hard Drive and you can build CDs from there.

However, the ones you've already run out of tries on, well, such is life ...

First, thanks to you guys for trying to help.

Here's some more info:

The version number is 7.5.0.47

The time is 73 minutes

All the tracks I'm trying to record have recorded before, and they record to a CD with 8 tracks on it. In other words, I can burn an audio CD with any 8 tracks of the 19, but when I try to burn any number over 10, 11, 12 etc., I get a system error.

It could be the burner is gettting old? One indicate is if it won't go all the way out to the edges.

Then again, if you are burning too fast for conditions, it may not have the resources to burn all the way out - which is why one does 'the usual' - turn off Screen Saver and AV, get off line of 24/7, etc - to save resources.

The file that you downloaded is for version 7.0. You need to download the update for 7.5, which will update the software to version 7.5.2.47, but I doubt seriously that it will do anything for your problem.
