Computer cannot read file.

Eddiedunc

Question

After restoring WindowsXP on my computer, I tried to reinstal EMC 7 but I keep getting the following message:

Error 1305. Error reading from file Q:\COMMON\Roxioshared\SharedCOM\1033\ClientEnglish.dll. Verify that the file exists and you can access it.

Any help appreciated

Eddie

You may be able to pick up a copy on eBay if you browse around, but, presuming the problem is just scratches, you could try cleaning the disc.

If that fails, I can honestly recommend this gadget - it does work well (sore on the wrists tho with the manual one)

As strange as this might sound......

I kept getting read error messages when I was installing another program.

I turned off pop up blockers, firewalls, spam protection, but disabling the virus checking program finally enabled the computer to read the file on the installation cd. It was a legally purchased software that I was installing.

It's probably not your problem, but it's worth a try and it doesn't cost anything.
