EMC9 Label Creator Font Selection

skunk

Question

I am using EMC9 with Windows Vista Home Premium. Label Creator seems to work okay except that when I try to change the font of added text. The default is Arial. When I click on the font box to change it, I get a message that the program has "stopped working". Windows tries to find a solution to no avail then says it will close the program which it does. Has anyone encountered this problem and/or found a solution?

Thanks,

Skunk

:( Atleast I am not the only one suffering from this problem as well. I hope that Roxio will be able to issue a patch to all users. I am sure that we are not the only users that are having this problem.

I hope that they sort this soon :glare: [/size]

I too have the problem with the font. I uninstalled all Creator 9 and re-installed. When I selected Label Creator from Start/Programs the Font worked. When I put a short cut to Label Creator on my desktop and opened the program with it, changing fonts shut the program down. New HP DV 9000 laptop, Vista Home Premium pre-installed. I uninstalled all Creator 9 again and will wait to see if Roxio comes up with a program patch or a new version before re-installing.

I did find a Lightscribe feature in EMC9 before removing it. It was a "light" version of, Sure Thing Label Creator, not a Roxio product. When I was exploring the program there was an update/upgrade option. The update option was for half price. It was about $12.00 for the download. Sure Thing does more then Label Creator and it works well with my version of Vista. The program will do paper as well as Lightscribe labels.

It's a fairly cheap option if Roxio Label Creator doesn't work on your machine.

I have the same problem with adding an image. Using the default template, double-clicking on the box that says, "Double-click here to add image.", or even just trying to add an image anywhere, opens the window for an image (blank). Then clicking on the Browse button opens the Pictures folder, but then immediately comes up with the error message: Label Creator Stopped Working and the only option is to close the whole program. Is it time for a reload, or switch to Nero??

That would be up to you.

Add me to the list with the same problems with label creator in Easy Media Creator 9. I previously had version 6 which was easy to use and had the correct templates for printing CD labels on my Avery label paper. I am NOT impressed with the label creator in Creator 9. I find it very cumbersome to use along with the "closing down" issue. After having limited choices for design, editing, etc., I was expecting great improvements in Creator 9, but I am extremely disappointed and frustrated with the label creator. Now, I am going to have to try to find the correct labels to print my projects on, if and when a "fix" is available to resolve the font and editing issues.

I have the VISTA operating system, also and at this point, I do not have many good things to say about it. Too many software companies have drug their feet on developing compatible software and patches!
