AutoRun Does not start

Question

I have been trying to install EMC 9 for several days now. When I pop in the CD, a Command prompt box pops up, then dissappears, and nothing else happens. Then I copied the entire CD in a ROX directory, and tried installing from there, same problem. THEN, I went and disables all of my startup items, restarted my computer, tried installing from the CD and from my copied directory, and still the same problem. has anyone experienced this?

Is your antivirus software and/or internet security software disabled, too?

It sure is! I have EVERYTHING disabled. I click on DISABLE ALL in the msconfig setup, and then restart. There is nothing left in my startup tray, and nothing open in windows, escept what I'm trying to do. The DOS box doesn't even have anything in the black area when it opens up. I can't figure out what's going on.

Could you list your computer specs as I and others have in our signatures? Perhaps someone will notice something that preventing the installation.

What does the command prompt box say? Cancel out of it, go to My Computer, right click on the drive with the CD in it, and select Explore.

If it opens, click on the Setup.exe file.

It doesn't say anything. It pops up, it's empty, and then it's gone as quick as it came. I did click on explore and try to do it that way, I also copied the entire CD to my computer, tried again. Then, I disable all of my startup items, and did the same thing again. All with the same result. - a flashing command prompt.
