dvd has burned but will not play

Big Joe

Question

I have downloaded my video from my jvc dv camcorder. The video is captured on the pc and I can watch it anytime I want. I have burned the the videos onto a sony +r/rw disc and on the dvd that came with the program. I have tried it on two different dvd players with no luck. The dvd is visually burned on the back of the dvd. My video is also mpeg and I have tried to convert to dvd format but no luck once again.

Also, when I try to erase the rw dvd it does not recognize that the dvd is in the bay.

I have used my dvd and disc copier.

All I want to is to have dvds of my kids!!!!! lol

I would appreciate any info, Thank You

Your video has to be captured put into a DVD authoring program like My DVD authored and reburned, to play on a settop DVD player.

List what application was used to burn the mpeg to the RW.

cd

As CD implied, you can't simply add your video files to a Data DVD in Creator Classic and expect them to play, they need to be put into the proper folders and format that the player is looking for. And you do this with something like MyDVD, which will create those folders, menus, etc.

You said it won't play in 2 different dvd players---does it play on the dvd player you burned it with and can it be seen in windows explorer?

You might want to burn to a regular dvd and see how that works as RW discs can go bad easily and are not a good way to keep your videos. I use them for test purposes only.
