Newly downloaded EMC9, capture greyed

larry_d

Question

I have downloaded EMC9 and the other suite of Roxio products currently available. I know how to do capture and video editing, so am not a newbie. I got my DV camcorder hooked up to the PC with firewire, all systems go, followed all the directions to capture video, the video appears in the preview box, but the capture button is greyed.

I rebooted, thinking this might clear things up. It did not.

How do I go about diagnosing this problem? I downloaded the product because I have a pressing need to capture some video and it is not working -- I really need to get this up and running. So, thanks for any help!

Can you capture with other software such as Windows Movie Maker or the camcorder software?

Please list your system specs especially video card.

Hi, yes, I can capture with WMM, but I'd prefer to use Roxio. I just did a capture using WMM, in fact. Roxio is still greyed. BTW, I can play the digital vid from the camcorder, can pause it, etc., it's just that the button is greyed.
